The Contemporary China Studies Programme comes in three distinctive models, varying in length between 16, 26 and 32 weeks:

CCSP ACADEMIC - 16 weeks

CCSP Academic is a 16-weeks academic study programme, that consists of your choice of English-taught academic and business courses, Chinese language classes and/or a part-time internship. All courses, including the language course and the internship, are accredited with the equivalent of 5 ECTS, so you may choose up to 6 modules to obtain the maximum study load of 30 ECTS.

The CCSP Academic programme has two intakes per year and runs every Autumn and Spring semester. The Autumn semester starts in the first week of September and ends the week before Christmas. The Spring Semester starts after Chinese New Year in late February or early March and ends in the second half of June.

CCSP INTERNSHIP PLUS - 26 weeks

CCSP Internship Plus is a 26-weeks programme that consists of the CCSP Academic programme, immediately followed by a 10-weeks full-time internship in a Chinese or overseas company. Consequently, CCSP Internship Plus runs from from early-September until late-February of the next year, or between late-February until late-August. For more information about our internships, please read here.

CCSP INTERNSHIP PREMIUM - 32 weeks

CCSP Internship Plus is a 32 weeks programme covering two academic semesters, consisting of the CCSP Academic programme during the first semester and a 16-weeks full-time internship during the following semester. During your internship semester, you must follow one academic course at Fudan University in order to be registered as an international student at the university and obtain the required one–year study visa. For more information about our internships, please read here.

The CCSP Academic programme offers a flexible course set-up, that allows you to make your own selection of academic and business courses, a language course and/or an internship in a local or international organization or company.

ACADEMIC COURSES

CCPS offers an average of 17 academic and business courses per semester on topics ranging from contemporary Chinese culture and society, economics, business and marketing to Chinese politics, diplomacy, religion and psychology. All courses are taught in English for one period of 2 or 3 hours per week by renowned Fudan university professors, using an effective mix of teaching and examination methodologies, as well as Chinese and Western academic literature. You will be asked to make a preliminary course selection during the application process, however, your final selection can be made a week into the programme, after you have had a chance to sit in on any of the courses of your interest.

Examinations may consist of written tests, group or individual presentations, papers or assignments, depending on the course. Information about examination and grading for every course can be found in the course descriptions elsewhere on this website. Upon completion of the course, you will receive an official Fudan University certificate of attendence and transcripts.

LANGUAGE COURSE

Language courses are offered by licensed Fudan University language teachers in small class settings at beginners and intermediate level. Placement takes place based on your Chinese language proficiency, which is tested at the start of the programme.

In case you need CCSP credits for your studies at home, we strongly recommend that you consult your home university on your course selection before the start of the programme.
